Concert and Presentation at the Orchards at Altapass
The NC Jukebox team visited the Orchards at Alta Pass, where Terry Kinney and his band performed some of the music we had helped rediscover in the North Carolina Jukebox archive. Mr. Kinney has advised us throughout the project and educated us on the history of Mountain Music as part of our class. We were honored to share our research with the local community, and learned more from the descendants of the singers about their families and their memories of performances, such as at the Carolina Theater. We hope that with the completion of the project we will be able to return and share even more music with the local community, and to learn more from them about its singers, its history, and the cultural heritage of our state.
